Hockey headlines for the CBJ and from around the league. Mmmmm... hockey
Jackets host the 'Yotes tonight in Nationwide Arena. Look for a Four Lines Deep post later in the day to give the breakdown of the matchup. For now, just know that the CBJ (13th in the West) have lost 5 of the past 6 to the Coyotes dating back to last season's 4 game sweep. Look at the bright side: we've no where to go but up. Here are you headlines....
- Jackets are apparently so popular around the globe that the NHL has decided to have them open the 2010-2011 season abroad in Sweden. Make sure your passport is up to date as this will be one sweet road trip. Jeesh, we're already looking ahead to next season.
- As mentioned the CBJ face the Coyotes tonight. G Ilya Bryzgalof has a 2.02 GAA, which is good for 3rd best in the league. The good news is he plans on taking tonight off.
- Phoenix Captain Shane Doan will be playing in his 1,000th career game tonight. I hope he loses, but you have to give him full marks for the achievement. Kudos.
- Fenway is getting ready for the Winter Classic. Check out the webcam here to see the progress.
- I wouldn't trade Hitch for John Tortorella as the coach of my favorite team, but sometimes I do wish Hitch would let the public get a taste of his demonstrative side. Torts has no qualms with letting the media know his true thoughts.
- Ken Campbell over at THN has some worthwhile takes on some recent developments in the Coyotes sale to Ice Edge Holdings including the league ignoring the CBA and the precedent it is setting.
- Finally, courtesy of PuckDaddy, the 10 Best Hockey Fights of the past decade. Derek Dorsett and Jon Mirsaty make the cut. Nice work boys.
