Afternoon Scrum 11/10/09

Hockey headlines for the CBJ and from around the league. Mmmmm... hockey

  • The Hockey Hall of Fame inductions took place yesterday in Toronto. Steve Yzerman, Luc Robitaille, Brian Leetch and Brett Hull were the NHL players enshrined, and each of them are overwhelmingly deserving of the honor. For a glimpse of their accomplishments and credentials, have a look at TSN's coverage. Congrats fellas and thanks for playing the Coolest Game on Earth.

  • Jackets fans have known how good Jan Hejda is for a couple of seasons now. Not surprisingly, the rest of the league is beginning to recognize just how good a defenseman Jan and his prodigious butt are. BTW, you gotta scroll down a ways on that 2nd link.

  • The NHLPA has done something to help themselves. It's true! Shocking, I know. Bringing in Don Fehr as an advisor should help them find a course of action to right the ship... or at least keep it from sinking at the rate it has been. THN has the story.

  • Got DirectTV? Missing having Versus to watch the NHL games on Monday and Tuesday? Puck Daddy has a look at the ongoing negotiation between the cable provider and the league. Check it out here.
