(Very) Quick Hitter

  • Michigan coach Red Berenson summed up his thoughts after Saturday's 5-1 loss to top ranked Miami by calling his players "spoiled brats." This in reference to the way the Wolverines gooned it up in the third period Saturday night incurring 51 PIM's including three ten-minute misconducts and a five-minute major for checking from behind. Sounds like Red's about to go all Herb Brooks on them. As long as the results aren't like the 1980 Olympic team, I'm fine with that. http://bit.ly/3LhXs6
  • Miami's Jarod Palmer and Cody Reichard were named CCHA players of the week for their efforts this past weekend against Michigan. Palmer was named offensive player of the week and Reichard goaltender of the week. CCHA Release
  • Palmer had 2 goals and 1 assist on the weekend including the game-winning goal on Friday and an assist on the game-winner on Saturday.
  • Reichard made 47 saves on 49 shots, allowing only one goal in each game of Miami's victories over No. 4 Michigan at Yost Ice Arena. Reichard also stopped his second penalty shot in three weeks.
